The sun is a spiritual symbol of the Zia Indians of New Mexico. The sacred number four is integrated into the Zia (i.e., Sun) symbol as four points radiating from each of the four directions of the circle. This design is incorporated as decorations on pottery, included in ceremonies and drawn around campfires. This Zialoca [«Crazy Zia»] has points at each direction.
